Is there a desktop version of eToro?

No. There is no official downloadable eToro desktop app for Windows or macOS. What many people refer to as the “desktop version” is simply eToro’s web platform that is accessed through a browser on a desktop or laptop.

Years ago, eToro did offer a downloadable desktop client. That product no longer exists. Today, the broker describes platform access as available “via the web or a mobile app,” which effectively means desktop users log in through a browser rather than installing software.

How to use eToro on a desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux)

1. Open a web browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
2. Visit the official eToro website and sign in through the standard login page.
3. Trade, monitor positions, and manage your portfolio directly in the web-based platform.

Want a more app-like desktop experience?

While eToro does not provide a desktop installer, there are a few ways to make the web platform feel closer to a standalone app:

1. Pin the eToro tab in your browser so it stays open and easy to access.
2. Create a desktop shortcut to the eToro site, an option available in Chrome and Edge.
3. Use Edge’s “Install this site as an app” option, if it appears for your browser setup.

All of these methods keep you on eToro’s official web platform while reducing friction when logging in.

⚠️ Warning about “Download eToro for PC” pages

Any website offering an “eToro desktop download” should be treated with caution. eToro has clearly stated that it does not offer a downloadable desktop platform, and download prompts from third-party sites are often misleading.

I recommend that you always stick to:

• The official eToro website for desktop access
• The official iOS and Android apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play

Desktop vs mobile: my take

The web platform and mobile app offer largely the same functionality, but they tend to suit different use cases:
